Events that we recommend
Events are on the comeback, there is now all the reason in the world to train.
Why we like it:-
The race offers various entry options which cater for a wide variety of fitness and skills sets. It is set in the beautiful village of Clarens and starts and finishes on the square every day, so you can pick your own accommodation and have a great weekend away with friends and family.
The 2 days of riding are some of the most scenic that you will do anywhere in this country.
Why we like it:-
One of the pioneers in stage racing around SA. Gary and the team know how to put on a race. The 100km plus traverse from Sterkfontein dam to Emseni camp is not for sissies.
There is something very special about the race village on the banks of the Tugela river. Head up for a sunset talk on Spioenkop mountain and discover some of the incredible history of the land before you ride it the next day.
Why we like it:-
We should all ride the Karoo at least once, that is all it will take to keep you coming back for more. This race unlocks many of the secrets of the land you just cruise by on your way to Cape Town normally.
The organisers of this event deliver an unforgettable hospitality experience combined with great riding in wide open spaces.
This ride is food for the soul.

Yes, booking is compulsory. Unless you have a multi-pass or season pass, this includes the MultiPark pass. Then you only need to arrive in our operating hours to ride.
Is it safe to ride on my own?
There is security on route, but we never recommend riding alone due to the hazardous nature of the sport.
Are there facilities?
Yes, we have ample facilities for kiddies food and drinks for the folks and friends. Did we mention that the coffee is amazing?
I got mud on my bike, what do I do?
It is a mountain bike and these are mountain bike trails, bikes have been known to get mud on them from time to time. We have a great solution though, our bike wash is fully operational and offers a great wash and lube service at a small premium of R25 for a wash and R35 for wash, chain clean and lube.
It rained last night, are the trails wet?
More than likely yes. Rain has the tendency to do that to things, the great news is that majority of our single trails run off quickly. The district roads can hold a little water after rain.
Can I run at the farm?
You most certainly can. Our dedicated trails are now open to runners, please follow the orange boards.
How technical are the trails?
You have options, plenty of them. At Northern Farm we have district roads, single trail for days and bumpy technical stuff on the black route. You can switch between routes, but you are spoiled for choice when it comes to your specific riding ability.
Can we fetch you if you have a technical issue on route?
Sadly not, ride prepared.
Can I bring my dog to ride or run with me?
Unfortunately not, Northern Farm is actually 1st and foremost a nature reserve and then a working farm.
Can I fish the dams?
Sadly not, they are off limits as we protect the Blue Cranes, Fish Eagles and Goliath Herons that live at the farm.
